Explore Baltimore
Baltimore's fans of flora have reason to rejoice, because they always have a chance to spend some time outside of the apartment skipping through the beauty of their favorite flowers at the Howard Peter Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Baltimore. Dating back to 1888, this floral paradise is the perfect spot for horticultural fans to spend their time, taking in the dozens if not hundreds of flowers, trees and other plants on display. The fields of flowers are sure to take your breath away, and the knowledgeable staff will tell you everything you need to know about the location. The gardens are broken down into five different areas, each offering you a different look at the world of plants. The first is the 1888 Palm House, featuring gorgeous tropical plants, as well as the orchid room, featuring some of the most beautiful orchids around, the Mediterranean House, featuring fascinating European varieties, the Tropical House and the Dessert House, full of cacti and succulents. The gardens feature 35 different flower beds and take up half an acre, and there's always a startling display of every color of the rainbow, whether you can in during early spring or late fall. They also have special displays of poinsettias and fall chrysanthemums for the holidays, as well as their yearly Spring Flower Show. They always say to make time to stop and smell the roses, and at the Howard Peter Rawlings Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, apartment-ites can take a smell, and a look, at all the most beautiful flowers plants from around the world, while never straying far from their apartments.
