Great Property
January 24, 2024I lived here as a student at SJU and really enjoyed by time here. Spacious light filled unit with a great balcony and pool in the courtyard. Quick walk to campus was a plus.Review from Apartments.com
DO NOT LIVE HERE
May 5, 2023Hello, I am a SJU student who decided to live here for a year while attending university. My experience to say the least was awful and they do not care about their tenants. The first thing I noticed when moving in was how disgusting and unclean the apartment was. We were told that before new residents move in that deep cleaning and repairs would be done to the apartment. This is the most false statement, as when I moved in there none of the specified repairs had been completed and the ...countertops, walls, and floors were covered in years of dust. I even had to wipe down my baseboards because of how unkept it was. Now, as I am moving out, we receive an email with detailed instructions as to how to clean the apartment before we leave. I personally am annoyed and angry that they would have the nerve to tell students to clean when the property wasn't even kept clean in the first place. There were holes in the floor among other repairs that should've been done before moving in. It makes you question what they do with the security deposit they decide to keep. In September 2022, there was an invasion to the property through the ground level, and safety measures were not taken into effect several months after the incident. Residents were assured that safety parameters would be put into effect immediately. I was very displeased with the lack of effort they put into ensuring a much safer property. Further, the property manager who lives on site is very lazy and does not get to peoples requests in a timely fashion. Rather, she always is coming up for an excuse as to why things haven't been done. More explicitly, I was notified only 5 minutes prior via phone call that she would be showing my apartment. We had several plumbing issues all year that went unattended, as well as a horrific ant infestation and the property also has a mouse infestation. I can hear them in the walls at night, and even watched one run across my apartment floor. The apartment was very tiny and not worth the money quite frankly. If you are looking to rent close to the university, I recommend that it would be better to live on campus or just find somewhere that is slightly more expensive because you will have a better quality of life.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
I don’t recommend!!!
August 13, 2021This property is NOT well maintained at all, it’s really dirty and they don’t clean up before a new tenant moves in. They have a random cat wandering around freely inside the buildings, even though this place is supposed to be a NO PETS ALLOWED apartment. When there is an issue with your apartment, they would take forever to try and fix it. Sometimes they don’t even fix it.Review from Apartments.com
DO NOT LIVE HERE!
August 13, 2021The only reason I’m honestly giving this 2 stars is bc it’s so close to sju. The on-site manager Bernice does NOTHING to help. There are ants and roaches in the walls and in the winter there are mice in the walls. As for pest control all they do is have an exterminator spray raid around the apartment which never does anything. There are also no pets allowed but Bernice has a loud small dog that is always barking and there are always stray cats wandering inside the apartment hallways. When you ...move in nothing is even clean and it’s like they just swept really quick and that it. No carpets are shampooed. Blinds and windows are not wiped. Even the hallways are dirty. At one point it was mold growing in the hallways. Also there is coined laundry which is so inconvenient and sometimes the machines don’t work wellRead MoreReview from Apartments.com
Absolutely Terrible - NEVER LIVE HERE
June 16, 2020I honestly don't even know where to start. There is no air conditioning in the units, the washers and dryers only take quarters and they don't work well either, and the management is terrible. The property manager, Bernice, can be very unreliable and will "fix" things by just kicking them (she did this with my heater multiple times). The other manager, Kate, never responds to emails in a timely fashion, and rarely answers your questions the first time around; she instead says what she wants to ...say on the matter. Also, the gates that are supposed to protect you don't work, and the gates for cars are often left open, providing residents with no protection. Way too expensive for what you are paying for as well.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Disappointed
January 13, 2019Thank goodness for the gate or I would feel incredibly unsafe living here. There have been break ins to the apartment during university breaks and cars with smashed windows out front. The landlord can’t do much about that, but doesn’t address maintenance concerns for weeks anyway. Parking is a nightmare. Cheap and old placeReview from Apartments.com
Just Okay
May 10, 2016I lived here for two years and it's been okay. It's relatively safe (although the doors are often propped open and the gate is often unlocked). There have been break ins in other apartments over extended breaks, but I haven't had any problems. The apartments themselves are okay. If something is broken, you need to pester Bernice (the manager) several times before anything gets fixed. Once they do send the workers out, however, it gets fixed quickly. The workers are GREAT! I have had cockroaches, ...other types of bugs, and mice. They sent an exterminator, but the problem persists. I lived on the first floor, so it may be different if you live on the higher floors. The reserved parking is nice, but you have to pay extra for it. Overall, it's okay. I heard the rent recently went up, so it's definitely not worth the price they are charging, but it's acceptable for a college student who doesn't need luxurious living.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
