Park Charles - Great Place to Live
September 10, 2015I have lived here for 9 months now and I have had a very pleasant time. The staff has always been helpful and friendly from the moment I toured the facility through the move-in process. They greet me by name every time I walk by the front desk and are always happy and polite. Maintenance requests are always fixed promptly. It's a little expensive, however most places that are in this location do not have all of the amenities that Park Charles offers for a better price. The location is incredibly ...safe, and it is right by metro and bus stops making public transit very convenient. For a huge space, courteous staff, safe location, and quiet building, you cannot find a better apartment. I highly recommend this complex.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com

Good Place to Live
July 23, 2015We have lived here going on 5 years. Things I like : great location- downtown, close to many, many restaurants and attractions 95 is super easy to connect to.; the maintenance team is top notch! I have never waited a full day for a service request; parking available under the building ($); pretty quiet unless your neighbor is studying piano at Peabody. Things that bug me: a lot of students, high turnover.; lacks a real grocery store in the area; we lost pool privileges at the property next door; ...the rent rises each year; apartments are not equal- some have newer appliances and cabinets and ceiling fans, others do not. The biggie is the air conditioning and heat are turned on for the entire building at the same time. The building manager sometimes acts like the money comes from her pocket and waits to turn it in, meaning that there are a few weeks where the building is uncomfortable ( note- their offices are not on the same system and they have it on when we don't have access to air conditioning). All in all- a good place to live.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great staff, clean building, close to the Inner Harbor
July 21, 2015Park Charles is an awesome apartment community, especially if you work Downtown. Pros: 1) The front desk staff is incredibly polite and helpful. 2) Maintenance is quick. 3) I lived there for a year and never saw any bugs. 4) The apartments are well-insulated, so there's not a lot of noise issues (most of what I heard came through the windows and not the walls). 5) The building is close to the Baltimore metro and just two stops from Johns Hopkins, as well as near a purple line circulator ...stop. The Southern Management shuttle runs to Hopkins as week and is free. 6) In-unit washer and dryer. It's small, but it works. 7) It's owned by Southern Management, so if you're currently living in an SM apartment, ask to do a community transfer. Also, if you're a student let them know and you might be able to get pre-approved. Cons: 1) There isn't a grocery store close by (the one in the plaza closed about two years ago and hasn't been replaced). Although I never used it, a shuttle runs to a couple of grocery stores on the weekend. 2) You have to hike a bit to get to fun nightlife things; Downtown didn't really have much to do after dark. 3) The heat and AC are individually controlled BUT you can only turn them on or off (you can't set a temperature), which is irritating.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
