Bed Bugs!
September 8, 2020We only lived here for a few months and moved to the other newer ones up the street. We had a bedbug infestation for a few months and management accused us of bringing them in. We asked if it could be coming the neighbors or other apartments around us and they insisted we brought them. Turns out the day we moved out, the neighbors had them as well and were being sprayed. Beware renting from here!Property Manager Responded

WASTE OF MONEY AND HAPPINESS
December 12, 2019I lived here for less than a year, due to the property manager sending us a "non-renewal of lease" form. That was fine and dandy, except for the fact that she was telling us to leave and threatening to evict us if not, 3 MONTHS before our lease legally ended. I called and she said she was aware that our lease was not up but that they were "willing to let us go early". This place is an absolute waste of money. I have proof that they overcharged us on water 10 dollars extra every month until they ...switched from a base rate. I signed the lease for 25 dollars for water a month and she charged 35. Also, there were cockroaches in the bathtub, there was no drain cover or stopper in the bathtub, trim was falling off, there was MICE droppings in cabinets, flooring was peeling off from the floor, doors did not shut or lock properly in the bathroom or bedroom, etc.. The property manager was constantly blaming and complaining to me about what my roommate was doing. Constantly singling us out. Not taking my complaints seriously when the tenant below was banging on their ceiling waking my newborn up. I have proof that she was accusing me of making up the problems just because she sent us a noise complaint a couple weeks before. She tried to say that nobody lived in that apartment yet, but I saw them come out of their apartment. She is very unprofessional, my mom went in to pay my rent and she was talking about personal things to her. I do not think she went the legal way to get us out of the apartment. Yes, rent was late a few times because of my maternity leave, yes my roommate was noisy. But, kicking out a new mom with a newborn baby and only giving us 30 days... this lady has no heart. There is no reason she could not have waited 2 1/2 months for our lease to end and at least give me time to heal after the birth of my daughter. This apartment is a waste of time and money and happiness, it is too expensive for its size and condition. I am just here to share my story and to let people know that if you live here, you will regret it because you will realize that its not worth the headache. But, thank you for giving us the chance to leave this place. Because we now have a beautiful, nice sized apartment for a great price and we are doing absolutely great and getting along great with the community and property manager!Property Manager Responded
December 18, 2019Madison, we are very sorry that you feel so badly about your time in our community. We assure you that it was never our intention to single you out or to erroneously accuse you of anything, and we strongly disagree of your characterization of our staff as heartless. It is always our first goal to create a comfortable and pleasant environment for our tenants to call home, and that is always the motivation behind our actions here. Regarding the state of your apartment, we are always happy to look at issues like that and do what we can to help. If you are curious about how our water bill is calculated and split among the residents we would be more than happy to discuss it with you, but it was not our intention to overcharge you or anybody else. Finally, nobody here intended to threaten you with eviction or anything else. If we did something that inadvertently made you feel threatened, you have our sincere apologies. As you pointed out though, you were not evicted. We gave you an ...opportunity to end your lease early, which you took. With that in mind, we are still willing to discuss any lasting concerns you might have, but if we don't hear from you we'll just say that we wish you all the best in your new home.

I am strongly do not recommend living there.
July 16, 2019I am strongly do not recommend living there. In my circumstances, I rented an apartment in the Sharonville residential complex and lived there for 4 years for the same circumstances. When I explained which apartment I needed, the manager gave me the keys without even trying to show me the apartment. Looking at the apartment, I discovered that it was dirty. the drawers in the kitchen cupboard were all stained, radiators are all dusty and dirty. When I noticed all these shortcomings, the manager ...did not react and said that I could put the paper in the drawers so that the stains could not be seen. I asked to show me other apartments and was refused. I had to agree to this apartment. I paid a deposit of $ 200, and for dogs $ 50. I always paid for my rent on time and kept the apartment in order. I laid two carpets in the place where my dogs lived to protect original carpet. When the circumstances of my life have changed and then I was able to move out. I washed and cleaned the whole apartment very well and when I went out the carpet in apartmet stayed clean, took everything on video, gave back the keys and left. I have been waiting for my deposit for more than two weeks. Finally I got a check in $15 out of $250 only $15. Although I cleaned everything very well, they said it smelled like dogs. I strongly recommend that if you decide to live there then when you get out of there do not bother to clean, you don't get your deposit back. Management will deceive you anyway and even better, look for some other place for an apartment where you will be treated with respect and where you will not be deceived.Property Manager Responded

Avoid if Possible
April 14, 2019Affordable and close to a lot of nice places (Kenwood Mall, Summit Park, etc). It's a shame that living there was a nightmare. The landlady seemed to never follow through with anything nor was there when she said she would be. We spent months filing noise complaints against the neighbors that were constantly throwing parties and blasting their tv/music all day and well into the late hours of the night (2-3 AM). Recorded multiple cases of this and showed them to the landlady and nothing was ever ...done and nothing ever changed. When we had walk-throughs, we were told the landlady would be there by a specific time and she would show up 30 minutes late. Apartment staff was never pleasant to speak to and we always dreaded having to talk to them. The landlady had confirmed via email that a lease had been extended when it had not, but thank god it wasn't because we wanted out of there ASAP. Out of ten? I'd give it a 2, and only because it was conveniently close to work. BRG as a whole is perfectly fine, Sharondale Woods is a nightmare, don't let the cute setting fool you. We lived there for a year and wanted to move out just a few months in.Property Manager Responded

Wouldn't Recommend
January 16, 2019I've lived here under a lease contract for a year and as a month to month leaser for 5 months. During my stay, I've had 15 notices for pest control coming in. No, I am not kidding, this place has an intense roach problem, probably due to the buildings age and cracked foundation. I came home one time and had 3 different notices of exterminators coming in on different days. When you're on a month-to-month contract, even if you know the exact day you want to move out, if you don't let them know by ...the first of the month (Even January), they're going to force you to take on next month's rent without any opportunity for a prorated charge. I would've saved money by getting a full year lease and terminating early instead, because of how much more expensive the month-to-month rent is. I moved in from out of state. This place is close to my current job, which was the main reason I came here. The office staff here do not make things easy. I've emailed on many occasions without response. Trying to call into the office from another state was such a hassle as it would be a random tossup if they would actually pick up the phone or not. I told them I wanted to live here and wanted to secure a place. I was told I need to mail in a security deposit to secure an apartment. There's no way to reserve a spot online. Was told that I would be denied the apartment I wanted if I couldn't mail in a deposit before someone else was interested in the apartment. Wow, thanks office staff, I guess I'll just overnight mail my check just so I can hope I can have a place to live when you're so cutthroat on reserving your spots. Other smaller complaints. The heating / cooling here is worthless. It's one wall mounted unit near the kitchen. If you want to have air conditioning, you're going to have to have the wall unit on at all times and that thing is loud and annoying. They will raise your rent every year. They also don't tell you online, but they list water as a separate part of rent, so take whatever you see online and add $40 to it.Property Manager Responded
January 17, 2019While we appreciate the feedback, we're disappointed that we've failed to meet with your expectations as well as our own standards in terms of resident experience. We are sorry you've come to feel so frustrated. We encourage you to bring your specific concerns regarding pests, maintenance, and fees associated with rent to us in the office. We would be grateful for the opportunity to work with you on addressing these matter directly and moving towards a resolution. We look forward to speaking with you again soon. Thank you.

Not the best place to live.
June 25, 2018I’ve been a tenant for a little under two years, would not recommend this place. My experience started out with being given key to my apartment that wasn’t finished. Stains on carpet, outlet covers missing from walls. I could tell that they vacuumed and painted baseboards, cleaned kitchen but that was about it. I complained, they apologized and gave a gift card to remedy the situation. Later that day, I received a call from the office asking me if I could possibly move in two weeks later, ...reasoning was that they found a “small” roach. I refused, I worked very hard to save for the deposit and rent and got helpers to help me move that day and didn’t want mine or my helpers work/time to go to waste. I moved in, found out there was a serious roach issue. Over the course of two months living here they had exterminators come three times, I continued to have a roach issue until I took initiative to buy and place my own bug killers around the apartment. Issue resolved within a week. Time goes on to winter and my heat isn’t working. I walked to the office two consecutive weeks to have the issue addressed. A month or so passed by without it being fixed so I brought it back up when I went to pay rent, was told it was my fault for not calling despite my multiple in-person attempts to express the heat issue. Towards the end of winter the ceiling thwarted leaking water into my apartment, took them two weeks to address this issue. These are the major gripes I have about this place. Less critical issue is office staff, one isn’t outright rude, but I do get the impression that she just doesn’t want me here. It’s like a weird vendetta. I have a dog, and I’m routinely asked if I take my dog out on time or about other dog odors, which I know isn’t an issue because he’s house trained and never relieves himself in my apartment or hallways. Me and my guests have never experienced these odors she’s claiming. I have had good experiences here as well, they are very few though. A disclaimer, they raise rent each year but will tell you they don’t upon initial lease signing. You’ll think rent is cheap until you live here and realize the apartments are just cheap, poorly maintained and repaired. community amenities aren’t all that great but they are there for the sake of being there. If I could do it all again I would spend my money elsewhere, I get the impression that I’m going to be hassled until I leave or until they can kick me out.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
