April 15, 2024If You like being woken up to roaches on you and homeless people sleeping in cars outside or the Detroit lions for upstairs neighbors then the redwood is for you I wouldn’t recommend these apartments to my worst enemy absolutely the worse is every way shape and form they desperately need to be knocked down and turned to a parking lot or somethingProperty Manager Responded

DO NOT LIVE HERE
November 28, 2022I lived here for 3 months and had to break my lease, I woke up with spiders in my bed on multiple occasions and cockroaches under my furniture when cleaning. The Oven never worked even after multiple orders to fix it and the lock on my door came completely off and it took management 2 days to fix it. I would never recommend ANYONE to live here. Horrible management and horrible place to live. I wish I could give this 0 stars...Property Manager Responded

Robberies and roaches pretty much define the living experience
December 21, 2020Car got robbed with a "slim jim" tool along with my downstairs neighbor's within my first week here and the staff refused to help in any way for fear of inciting a panic and even had the audacity to gaslight me under an assumption that I hadn't locked my doors. I found a neighbor wearing my stolen items and learned his name during the ordeal before later overhearing a conversation at the office revealing that they are aware of a pattern with this individual and that they haven't evicted him ...despite recurring car and property thefts by him and his accomplice who doesn't live on the property. Meanwhile my building has been fighting an infestation of cockroaches that the staff has failed to address in any meaningful capacity. Nobody at the office wears masks and you have to go in there to get packages or to top up your laundry card. I'm still running out in the cold whenever a car alarm goes off at least every other night to make sure it wasn't mine and I change my route to the laundry facilities every time to avoid people screaming frightening nonsense at each other or themselves so the stress of being here is clearly affecting me in subtler ways. I paid a massive utility bill because of cracks in the doorframe and plumbing issues when I first moved in. Last night I routinely went out to check on my car after hearing an alarm and found a massive, virtually irremovable sticker covering my driver's side window warning me to park in the spot where I'd been robbed instead of someplace more visible as the neighbors had suggested after the incident or otherwise be towed/booted. In my three months here I think I've aged as many years. It looks nice on first glance but look elsewhere if living in a safe and clean neighborhood is a priority.Property Manager Responded
December 23, 2020These are incredibly serious allegations, and we encourage you to contact a member of our leasing team at your earliest convenience. While we certainly sympathize with your concerns, we disagree strongly with your characterization of our staff and community, and we'd love nothing more than to clear up any and all misunderstandings directly. In the meantime, please know that your comfort and satisfaction are our top priorities. Thank you.

TERRIBLE APARTMENTS + ROACHES
September 22, 2020I have a 50 character minimum. Roaches, appliances are broken, outdated, can't read labels to even use stove or oven, oven barely works. Unit was damaged and put together by a 3 year old basically. Terrible staff and management.Property Manager Responded

Bad apartment.
August 16, 2020The apartment is in crummy condition and its falling apart. The building is full of German cockroaches and you can never get rid of them. The neighbors are trashy and you'll consonantly be hearing some domestic dispute, or someone blasting their shitty rap music. Not to mention that those same tenants leave cigarette buts and trash everywhere on the property. It's cheap, but you get what you pay for.Property Manager Responded
September 9, 2020We apologize that your experience here has been anything short of exceptional. We know pests can be more than a nuisance, which is why we have procedures in place to combat this issue should it ever arise. If you require a pest spray within your home, please reach out to the office to schedule a treatment. We hope all residents are being respectful and courteous of one another by being cognizant of their noise levels, disposing of their trash properly, and abiding by all other community policies. Review from Apartments.com
Worst Place to live, don't fall for the low rent.
August 7, 2020Issue 1: A/c unit didn't cool effectively, it generated cold air however it didn't blow it into the room. Issue 2: Knobs on stove didn't work, called maintenance, they used a cigarette lighter to melt it back onto the switching mechanism, the very next time I used that burner it wouldn't turn the switch back to the off position because, news flash, stoves are hot! and melted the knob again. Issue 3: The Bathroom/closet door knob broke and locked me in the bathroom, fortunately I had tools in the ...bathroom/closet and repair it enough to get out of the bathroom, called maintenance, they said "It works fine" ... only because I had it rigged to work temporarily. I went to Home Depot and replaced it myself with an $8 knob. Issue 4: While I was there, there were squatters in the unit above me constantly loud and dealing drugs, the unit next to that had a dude dealing weapons, he was evicted only after he went to jail. PD is there all the time Issue 5: The power outlet I plugged my hair dryer in melted and started to smoke, maintenance pulled the wiring and reassembled it with the same outlet...not wanting my place to burn down, I went to home depot and replaced it myself, being a fairly competent DIY'er. Issue 6: When I got the final closeout they charged me to Paint (Golly I wish I had fresh paint when I moved in.) A cleaning fee (I cleaned the place to better than it was when I moved in.) Drip pans for the stove (Which I replaced the day I moved out, and left extras.) Issue 7: the near constant smell of Marijuana in the closet coming from the bathroom venting through the other unit. I work in education and can't be smelling like Weed at work. It's not a safe place to live, the units are trashy, the front desk lies to your face about the water bill... did some research... there's only one water meter for the whole property... they take the total bill and divide it by the total residents on the property, so you end up paying for everyone elses water, the lawns to be watered, the office staff and guests flushing the toilet, everything! There is a "C.A.M" fee which is a club house fee, the clubhouse consists of a Gym with terribly old equipment, a pool table, a pool, and a laundry center... the fee is about $20/month, not to mention if you want to rent the pool or club house they charge an additional fee... AMC, LLC Properties is a large corporation, and if you think they care about their tenants, you're terribly wrong.Property Manager Responded
August 25, 2020Please know, we care deeply for all residents of our community and we regret that you received the opposite impression. We are sad to see that your move-out experience left you with such a negative perception of our community. You'll find it is not uncommon in the multifamily housing industry for some additional charges - such as utilities, Common Area Maintenance fees, potential late payments fees, etc. - to slightly increase the overall monthly cost renting a home. Additionally, it is standard for some cleaning and repair costs to be owed at move-out should the condition of the unit warrant it. All potential fees and charges were clearly outlined within the lease agreement. We encourage any current resident with questions or concerns to please reach out to the office for assistance. Thank you. We wish you luck in your future endeavors. Thank you,

January 13, 2020Loki, we hear your frustration and apologize that this situation has so negatively impacted your experience here. DO NOT TRUST A WORD THEY SAY
January 3, 2019When I moved in that apartment was filthy and I had to clean everything before unpacking. Then I discovered that even though it is a non-smoking apartment, my neighbor below me was smoking and the acrid smell filled my apartment and made everything I own stink. The smell never went away and now my clothing is destroyed and smells horrible. Getting maintenance to come was a joke. I had a leaking toilet, burners that did not work, the heater never heated up all the way, the cabinets were literally ...falling apart, and my sink got clogged. Most of these maintenance requests took days and even weeks before someone got around to fixing it, if they even fixed it at all. I honestly just gave up. When I had to move due to a change in employment, I went to the office three separate times and spoke to three separate people to confirm that I could pay the $2500 breakage fee in installments because I could not get all the money together if I was also paying the rent on the apartment. They assured me this was totally possible so I went ahead and ended my contract. On move out day I asked the office about my deposit and any residual fees. They told me that they would take the last month's utilities out of my deposit and return the rest to me. After I ended my contract I called and they said that they never told me I could pay in installments and would have to pay the $2500 upfront. I asked the supervisor how they could just lie to my face and she said it was "just a misunderstanding". Then they told me that even after 2 weeks they had not even cleaned the apartment and that I would be responsible for a $200 cleaning fee that was never mentioned, even when I specifically asked about residual fees. They also told me that the $400 deposit I paid was a non-refundable move in fee and I would not get it back, even though I specifically asked and the girl said that I would be getting it back. I acknowledge that it is my fault for not going over the contract in with a fine tooth comb and not recording every conversation I had with the office management. If you are considering moving here, I strongly suggest you read every word of the contract and record every conversation you have with any of the staff because they have no qualms about lying to your face and using the lies to screw you over. Also, be aware that this apartment complex is not safe and has had several incidents with police, attempted break ins, and stolen packages. Really, just look elsewhere.Property Manager Responded
January 17, 2019We're disappointed to see your move-out experience negatively impacted your perception of our community. Our team prides itself on being transparent in all communications, especially those involving potential fees and charges - all of which were clearly outlined within the lease agreement. We apologize for any confusion you may have held about these terms and for any inconvenience this caused you. You'll find it is not uncommon in the multifamily housing industry for the deposit paid upon move-in to be applied towards cleaning and repair costs when a resident moves out should the condition the unit warrant it. Additionally, any outstanding balances owed or fees incurred from breaking a lease may be subtracted from this balance. Some deposits are refundable while others are non-refundable. This is clearly disclosed within the lease prior to the payment of said deposit. If you have lingering questions or concerns about your time here, please give the office a call so that we may clarify ...things for you. We're sad to see you now hold such a low perception of our community, but we still appreciate you sharing your feedback with us. Thank you. We wish you luck in your future endeavors.

The RedWorst Apartments
January 17, 2017Every single month there's a new charge added onto our rent that we aren't supposed to be paying for. I have been charged for a storage unit, and a parking space 3 months in a row and I do not have either. The office staff is unpleasant and they constantly promise to call me back regarding the questions I have about maintenance etc. and they never do. However, the maintenance staff is fantastic, the very second it snows it is cleared immediately. There are never leaves on the ground and there is ...never ice on the sidewalks or in the parking lot. If not for the maintenance staff I would move out as soon as possible and am currently in the process of leaving my lease to find something better.Property Manager Responded
April 17, 2017We're so sorry to hear that these incorrect charges have been a cause of concern for you, though we do appreciate your kind words about our maintenance team. We'd appreciate the opportunity to meet with you and clear up any uncertainty about your bill; please reach out to our office at your earliest convenience. We look forward to working with you to improve your experience. Thank you.
