About The Strand

The Strand Residences – a new, 86-unit affordable housing development – is being built next to the historic Strand Theater in DC’s Deanwood neighborhood. The Strand will offer one and two-bedroom apartment homes for move-in September 2021. The apartments come equipped with washers and dryers in every apartment and gourmet kitchens including dishwashers and microwaves.The Strand amenities include a fitness center, a private courtyard with a grilling station, a cyber cafe, and a resident services coordinator. The apartment community also offers on-site management and maintenance services.The housing provider will not refuse to rent a rental unit to a person because the person will provide the rental payment, in whole or in part, through a voucher for rental housing assistance provided by the District or federal government.
