Horrible in every way
January 15, 2025This is not a good place to live. The managers do not respect their tenants. Maintenance requests are outright ignored, even when they pose health hazards. We have been requesting maintenance on our shower because the bottom is cracked open and the walls are breaking apart and has been moldy since we moved in. We were charged a cleaning fee when we moved in and the apartment was absolutely disgusting. There were crumbs and hair under the couch cushions and food on the floor in the kitchen. In the ...six months I've lived here the washing machine has been broken 3 times and they did not offer us any kind of discount on that months rent. They have been claiming that the spa will be fixed "this year" since 2015. Do not live here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Avoid
August 5, 2024My daughter rented an apartment at University Gardens for a summer and my perspective (as the paying parent) is that this is an okay property - UNTIL YOU NEED SOMETHING from management. Unfortunately, maintenance issues arose, and it became evident that the property was not well-maintained. During a severe heat wave with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, the air conditioning unit in her apartment broke down. It took several days for a technician to arrive, and when they did, they found that ...the compressor was broken. It then took an additional several weeks to repair the unit because they were "waiting for corporate to approve the expense." During this time, the apartment was uninhabitable due to the extreme heat, as it was a second-floor unit. She was forced to stay elsewhere for over two weeks and couch surf. At our request, they provided a very small standing AC unit, which it was insufficient to cool a room let alone an apartment. While I understand that issues can arise, I believe I should be refunded for the period during which the apartment was uninhabitable. Despite sending over TWENTY (yes, you read that number correctly, TWENTY) follow-up requests, all of them were ignored. Phone calls went unanswered, the voicemail box is always full, and messages sent through the resident portal are ignored, text messages, and emails also receive no response. It seems their strategy is to ignore problems in the hope they will disappear, which has led me to consider filing a claim in small claims court. Ignoring over twenty outreach attempts requires a deliberate effort. If you are considering renting a property for yourself or your child, ask yourself if you are willing to deal with such unresponsiveness. If not, I recommend looking elsewhere. Like many college properties, they are efficient at collecting rent but fall short in providing adequate support and maintenance.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
eh
August 5, 2015Doesn't have many features but does have a great price for 3bedroom also too pricy for the animals:( would not want to live hereReview from Apartments.com
Great place!
September 9, 2015Its location is great, the only reason why I rated it good is because of the thin walls and creeks in the floor. Since I am a full time student and also am employed I am rarely home. If you are a student at the university I recommend this place because of its location. It is also close to shops and awesome food restaurants. Down the street from the park and right next to a hospital. All you need within a block away!Review from Apartments.com
