Nothing but issues
October 18, 2024We moved into our apartment in August, and it is currently October. Here’s a list of problems we’ve had during this time: - Signed the lease almost a year in advance (4 of us), and were only given 3 keys upon move-in. Maintenance ignored all requests for a key, upper management was no help. After nearly a month, we went to maintenance in-person and they printed one right then and there, it took about 3 minutes. - Paying a “premium” to have laundry in our building tho the machines are always ...broken and disgusting - Washing machine going out of order and trapping my wet clothes inside, was told nothing could be done until the next day and to just leave my laundry hamper so maintenance could put my wet clothes into it when they fixed it. - Unlabeled and broken mailboxes, constant stolen and misplaced mail - Mold in AC units - Bathtub siding falling apart - Leaky garbage disposal that we were unaware of for weeks, resulted in the entire cabinet under the sink growing mold. Had to throw out everything we kept under there. - BED BUGS. They’re coming into our apartment from another, and I have not been informed about whether or not the infested unit has been treated. I’m still finding live ones a day after treatment, so I’d say it hasn’t been treated. To sum it up, living here is NOT worth it! Go elsewhere!!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Poor Security
May 5, 2021I would not recommend this property. My car was vandalized for over 5000 dollars in damage (catalytic convertor stolen). I know someone else whos had their car broken into on the property.Review from Apartments.com
Awful
November 26, 2020The leasing office is insanely rude. None of the staff know anything and give out incorrect information. They hit you with unexpected fees often. The washers and dryers are never available, do not work, and are very expensive. On the several occasions the staff has given out incorrect information, they have refused to take accountability or make accommodations for the mistakes they created. The worst part about being here is how unfriendly the leasing office is and that they try to get more money ...out of you at every turn. The units are also ugly and not what the model units look like. Do not rent here.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Good overall, mostly minor issues
June 24, 2019I have lived here for 3 years so that would tell you that it obviously isn't so bad that I thought moving was necessary. Overall, I would give them a 4/5 stars with mostly good things to say. I live in the 1 bedroom 1 bathroom. Pros: -Shuttle to the university -Laundry facilities in most buildings that let you use Bluetooth to pay and notify you when done -Pet friendly and kind about me having my dog -Clean, mostly new appliances, all of my appliances were great and in good working order or ...kept in working order -Maintenance is great, I'm not sure if they are contract or UV employees but they are pros at fixing most anything and respond rather quickly to most requests -UV doesn't charge a maintenance fee for most things unless it is beyond obviously the tenants fault and not as result of normal wear -Safe community, like one crime happened here in 3 years and it was such a big deal that the news covered it because it was literally the only one that ever happened -Very classy and nice resident life office with gym and free printing (with free paper) -Pool is kept up quite well, as is lawn and gardens -Locked keypad entry, entry ways kept clean and in working order -Lots of diversity to the people that live here and I feel UV is inclusive to this -Online payment and maintenance requests - Fast replies and lots of staff that work at the resident life center, although most are undergraduates they've been pretty nice and efficient over the years Cons: -Fee for all the amenities isn't included in rent, its a yearly fee -Also an EAS fee which covers utilities aside from electric and internet that isn't included in rent -Kind of high cost for the apartment vs square footage ratio given that partial utilities aren't included like they are in most others -No central AC, only window units -Frequent renovations of neighboring apartments lead to a lot of noise, and they work into the night not typical 9-5 -LOTS of undergraduates so it can be pretty loud, the walls are super thin so I can hear most conversations and TV -They go through periods each year where I feel they are in my apartment a lot for inspections and such, they do it 4 times per year minimum which is kind of a lot and I just feel uncomfortable with people in my apartment when I'm not there, especially since I have a pet. -Closet set up is weird, it's two smaller closets instead of one big one and no walk in closetsRead MoreReview from Apartments.com
Families and grad students, look somewhere else
November 8, 2018The leasing agents might tell you it's quiet and family friendly, but that is far from accurate. The residents are primarily undergraduates, which is fine. There is nothing inherently wrong with undergraduates. For some reason, however, these particular undergraduates seem to have the impression that this is an adults-only community. I have been harassed at the pool for letting my potty-trained child splash on the stairs on a 90° day and was told by a pool attendant "You can't please everyone..." ...I've had noise complaints over the occasional bump from a 30 lb child getting out of her bed in the morning. Meanwhile, drunken 20-year-olds shouting at the top of their lungs parade under our windows every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. In fairness, we should have considered walkability when we moved in. Either way, the nearest playground is in Buckeye Village, which is (I think) set to be demolished soon. There are a couple others down the bike trail, but it's more of a planned excursion. There is no longer a grocery store in walking distance, which was one of our biggest draws when we moved in. Moving in was a nightmare, too. There seems to be no consistent agreement about what the term "premium unit" means, so after we toured the model and asked to pay a little extra for a premium unit like the one we saw, we we're surprised to get the keys to our apartment and find none of the features we expected. Specifically, we had crumbling laminate tile in the kitchen and bathroom and a yellowing peach tub with avocado colored tile all over the walls. When we sent an email to see what was going on, we were told that our unit was in fact premium, but that the model unit was deluxe premium. In all the fuss around getting it settled, literally every person used different terminology to describe the unit. Ultimately, they did the upgrades to get it where they said (or maybe didn't say?) it would be, which to their credit, was great. Still, the noisiness, the attitudes of residents toward children existing in their proximity, the occasional cockroach, and the challenges of functioning in an already small space with massive wall unit air conditioners jutting out of the walls in almost every room are not worth itRead MoreReview from Apartments.com

Cozy and Convenient for Ohio State Students
October 3, 2015If living off campus is more your style, or your attending Graduate school then The University Village apartments are an excellent choice. Modern well maintained buildings make you feel safe in your home away from home. With a pool and workout facilities and tanning its got everything you need. Excellent bus service to The Ohio State University campus and walking distance to shopping and biking trails make for convenient living.Review from Apartments.com
University Village
August 9, 2015The University Village apartment complex is wonderful. The complex is made up of many small buildings that gives the feel of a true neighborhood community. It is close to the Ohio State campus, and even includes a free bus service to and from campus. It is also walking distance from a small strip mall including a grocery store and a popular bar. Parking at the complex is never an issue for residents or guests with plenty of marked spots for both. While the price is on the upper side of average, ...you absolutely get what you pay for. The rooms and living spaces are very spacious and as a resident you have access to many amenities including a workout room, free tanning, computer room, newly remodeled pool/cabana, and more. There are also frequent University Village events including free movie nights, pool parties including free beer and food, ice cream socials, and tail gate parties before OSU games. The feel of the University Village community is great for anyone from students to families and everyone is very considerate. I absolutely recommend University Village to anyone looking to live in this area!Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
University Village Apartments
August 6, 2015I've lived in my current apartment in the University Village for a year, and have nothing but good things to say. The amenities included are perfect for my needs, including convenient laundry, bus, and a wonderful pool. The rent is fair and the landlord has always been attentive to my needs. I would thoroughly recommend University Village for anyone looking to rent near The Ohio State University.Review from Apartments.com
University Village Apartments
July 31, 2015Hello, my names Justin. I've lived in University Village for a year. The staff is very friendly in the leasing office, and the maintenance team works hard everyday! There is a pool open from 9am to 9pm in the summer. We're also very fortunate to have awesome bus drivers that take students to and from the OSU campus!Review from Apartments.com
