I Regret My Decision To Live at Upper E
January 4, 2021The only difference between living in a cardboard box and living at Upper E is a cardboard box doesn’t come with an unhelpful and unprofessional leasing staff. I lived at Upper E for a year and a half. It was managed by City Gate until about a year ago and is now managed by Sunridge Management Group — City Gate was awful and Sunridge is not much better. City Gate's employees were sarcastic and openly condescending toward me. City Gate sent out emails from different email addresses every single ...time so there was no way to add them to my safe sender list. I had to monitor the JUNK FOLDER in my email for important info. The Sunridge staff absolutely do not care. For example, they took weeks to repair an air conditioning during the summer. I had to call the corporate office and threaten legal action before they even attempted to repair it. They ended up installing a window unit, something that could have been done WEEKS earlier if they had been paying any attention. In another case, they screwed up the charges on their tenants' accounts so some of the utilities fees were assessed late. I came home one evening and there were eviction/pay now notices on my door and about half of my neighbors' doors. And yes, they charged a late fee. It would have been funny if it wasn't so frustrating. They screwed up and got to make a little extra money off of it while blaming us. If they don't get to a maintenance request — it's your fault for not calling to remind them. If they assess fees wrong — it's your fault for not checking your account every single day. If you miss an email about parking permits — it's your fault for not monitoring your junk folder. Both management companies made it absolutely as difficult as possible to be a tenant at this apartment complex. Save yourself a headache and live somewhere else.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
No sympathy
June 11, 2016The apartments are nice but the management and team only care about getting their money. I went into delivery to have my child and instead they tried evicting us knowing we always pay rent and even told them ahead of time our baby would be coming. Service is poor they just want money money moneyReview from Apartments.com
Great if you like getting your car stolen
March 11, 2016My friends car was stolen once, then his new car was broken into 3 more times here. Over the course of only 6 months. There was also a carjacking. Take a look at the dallas police reports for the address; don't take my word for it. The ceilings are so thin you can hear a dog scratching himself through them. Terrible place to live. The worst complex I've seen in east dallas and I rented down here before it was cool.Review from Apartments.com
