This is not a place you want to live
August 2, 2016If you are looking to move to a place with mice, bugs, crime and poor maintenance, White Oaks is the place for you! I take pride in keeping my living space clean, and yet I battled mice all winter long and I didn't live on the ground floor. There is nothing quite like laying in bed at night and listening to the mice crawl in the walls above and behind you, or waking up in the morning and having to clean up dead mice in traps. When the mice dissipate in the summer, the creepy crawlies take their ...place, running the gauntlet of tiny spiders to centipedes to roaches. The apartments are old and busted, and the community has well started to show its age. I never heard a peep from my next door neighbor but most nights I listened to the stomp, stomp, stomp of my upstairs neighbors as they screamed at each other in one of their many blowouts. I can't even imagine if I had lived under someone with kids. Getting through to customer service is a fruitless adventure, and always required at least five to ten minutes on hold. Everything I called to have fixed required a minimum of four calls to customer service, including the one emergency maintenance issue that I had. Customer service reps are friendly until you bring up that this is your nth call for the same problem at which point, regardless of how polite you are, they suddenly start copping an attitude. The playground is a favorite spot for young adults to loiter at night in the summer, and you have to suspect drug activity when you see the number of different cars idling there night after night. All in all, this is not a place you want to live. I do not regret many decisions that I've made in my life, but signing the lease to this place is one of them. The issues above are only the tip of a rather massive iceberg. I wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
Great Place to Live Minutes from Downtown Baltimore
May 19, 2016I have lived in White Oaks for 8 years and I couldn't have asked for a better apartment close to my job without breaking my budget. I was paying under $900 when I moved in which was a steal! The price has increased since, however I still think it's a great value. If there was one negative I would say that the apartments are a bit dated with 1970's style kitchen and bathrooms. The good news is that the management company is currently in the process of renovating and updating the apartments as they ...become vacant. You would never guess how quiet the area is considering how close it is to a major road (Rt. 40). Access to I-95 and I-695 is minutes away with shopping right around the corner. The apartment complex is surrounded by mature trees and has plenty of sidewalks to walk, run, bike, etc. There is a bus/shuttle stop for the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) right on the complex. The community is a mixture of working professionals and college students. You might hear the thump of car stereos every now and then on a Friday or Saturday night, but it's not frequent enough to be a nuisance. The leasing office and maintenance staff are very helpful. Most of my work orders have been handled promptly within a day or two of me submitting them. Overall a good experience.Read MoreReview from Apartments.com
