DO NOT MOVE HERE!!
July 2, 2019I would absolutely recommend AGAINST living at the Wilmark Apartments. I have lived in various apartments throughout Denver for 8 years and have never had such a HORRIBLE experience such as living here. I would like to acknowledge that it is not the management and maintenance team that made this place such an awful experience, as they are very receptive, but the infrastructure of the building itself, which cannot be changed. Here is why I would highly advise you DO NOT MOVE HERE: -The AC unit ...is in the main living room. Due to the layout of the unit, NO cold air ever reaches the bedroom, even when the AC unit is left on all day and night. I literally sit and sweat in bed in the summer months. -The only heating mechanism is produced through radiators within each apartment. These are controlled by the building and not each individual unit- so you have no control over how hot or cold it gets. In my experience, the radiators blasted heat all day long (From Nov-May) so I would constantly get home to a 90 degree unit. It was pretty unbearable. Opening the windows would only bring in extremely cold air, so there was no happy medium to get a normal level of heat in the unit. Additionally, the radiators seems to produce less heat early in the morning so I would wake up to a cold apartment. -My biggest complaint is the EXTREMELY POOR INSULATION between units. I was able to hear every step, cupboard or drawer open, dog jump, drop of an item, conversation, etc of my neighbors above me. I have never in my life experienced such poor flooring in an apartment. I was woken up at 6am every day to my neighbors walking around, their dogs walking around, and them shutting doors, etc. The insulation is so bad, you can hear the front door of the building close every time someone enters. -Not only was I able to hear the neighbors above me, the HORRIBLE INSULATION also caused the neighbors below me to complain. Even to the extent that my vacuuming was aggressive. I understand communal living arrangements, but there is no way to avoid the EXTREMELY THIN WALLS of this building, so everyone has a bad experience. -The laundry machines do not wash close properly and leave dirt and stains on clothes when washed. I’ve had to take my laundry elsewhere to get a clean wash.Property Manager Responded
