"Keep Austin Weird" is more than just a slogan on a T-shirt. For folks from apartments in Austin, it's a way of life, and this weird city is the only place you would find a landmark such as "Jeremiah the Innocent". What is Jeremiah the Innocent you may ask? Those not quite in the know might simply brush it off as a bizarre piece of graffiti, but this strange little frog on the wall of Crave Thai Food Restaurant is so much more. He is a representation of Austin today, a testament to the odd ways of Austinites, and one of the most paramount of Austin landmarks, making an apartment near Jeremiah the Innocent a thrill for any Austinite. Jeremiah the Innocent stands on the corner of Guadalupe and 21st, and has stood there for many years. It's a simple drawing, consisting of a somewhat poorly drawn frog beneath the words "Hi, How Are You?" One from an Austin apartment may wonder why this simple painting may have come to be such a piece of Austin history, but sometimes there's just something that speaks to a person, and so has Jeremiah the Innocent spoken to so many in Austin apartments.
