Worth Airport in the 1970s led to a population explosion in the area, and today Highland Village residents number close to 15K. Consistently listed as a 'great Texas city to raise a family', this Dallas suburb may be smaller in scope but is certainly big in heart.

How is the weather in Highland Village?

Like most of Texas, residents of Highland Village apartments can expect fairly long and hot summers. Winters, conversely, are quite mild, and the spring rains help the famous Texas bluebonnets flourish every April and May.

How do I get around town?

A member of the Denton County Transportation Authority, Highland Village apartment residents should have little trouble navigating the streets for work and play. Coach service currently runs to much of the downtown Dallas scene, and the commuter rail A-Train offers a stop near the city. Taxis are omnipresent as well, and many residents claim the use of a personal auto as their primary mode of transport.

What is the Highland Village commute like?

Brazos Blvd and Highland Village Road act as the main thoroughfares in the city proper, with Interstate 35 the primary highway leading to Dallas and beyond. Getting around the downtown area is generally a breeze, with many destinations easily reached on foot, although the commute to greater Dallas can be a bit sluggish on I-35 during major drive times.

What are the local media outlets?

The 'Leader' and the 'Cross Timbers Gazette' both offer local coverage of area events, and radio in the region comes largely from the Dallas and Denton markets. Formats such as talk, modern rock and country are prevalent, with college radio from Denton popular as well. Broadcasting is widespread, with major affiliates such as NBC and CNN beamed into Highland Village rentals nightly.

The Dallas job market is just a short commute away as well, and the firm sense of community can be felt quickly in this charming Texas locale.

What Highland Village landmarks should I see?

Pilot Knoll Park is a great place to enjoy a picnic or simply some quiet time among the greenery. Where are the nearby vacation spots?

Hit the road for some sightseeing in Oklahoma, or head to the west Texas scenery heaven of Big Bend Park. Houston is to the east a few short hours away, as is the 'live music capital of the world' Austin to the south. Of course, Dallas always remains an easy nearby option as well, complete with world famous eateries and live music venues such as House of Blues and Three Links.
