What is the history of Loma Linda?

Loma Linda, which means ‘Beautiful Hill,’ was initially called Mound City and has always been health conscious. The Seventh-day Adventist Church purchased the Loma Linda Resort hotel in 1905 and made it into the Loma Linda Sanitorium. It was made into a medical facility and college and was what later became Loma Linda University and Medical Center. As a result, this city has been a center of health and wellness research for many decades.

It only receives about 13 inches of rain annually, and the January average low temperature is 42, while the typical July high is 95 degrees. Loma Linda also is ranked climate-wise as one of the best places to live in the state. May, October, and April are the best months to be comfortable outside.
