The Gregg County Historical Museum is located in a former town bank that was built around 1910. Lear Park is a huge regional outdoor sports complex on the west side of town. A new 92-acre park is being built at Lake Lomond, on the west side of Longview.

Carthage, TX is about an hour southeast of Longview. The town is home to the Tex Ritter Museum and the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, which are both worth a visit for country music fans. Driving southwest to Jacksonville, visitors can enjoy the Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari, which has some rare animals that aren't normally found in zoos. Rodeo fans can head south to Nacogdoches every March to enjoy the Nacogdoches Pro Rodeo. Mardi Gras in New Orleans is just a six-hour drive from Longview.

Where is the best place to move in Longview?
