The township of North Bergen, NJ, population 61,627 (based on the July 1, 2018, Census Bureau population estimate) is nestled between the cities of Secaucus, NJ and the great city of New York, across the river from the famous Manhattan and Upper West Side districts. North Bergen may be adjacent to New York but is very much its own city with its own identity. It is known as one of the hilliest places in the U.S. and one with one of the nation’s highest population density.
