The 4th of July may be one of the easiest days of the year to throw a themed celebration - red white and blue adornments turn any apartment, common room or outdoor area patriotic, and the menu couldn't be simpler.
If your apartments have them, take advantage of some of the community grilling and picnic areas for sizzling up the perfect July 4th burgers or BBQ. If grilling outside isn't an option, simple indoor baked or stove prepared selections and picnic fare are appropriate to the occasion. Potato salad, sliced watermelon, and baked chicken or a basic burger can replace more elaborate (and expensive) choices you might find at other dinner parties and such.
Ice cupcakes in the colors of the flag or whip up sundaes with strawberry and blueberry topping for an Independence Day dessert.
If fireworks are allowed in your area and are a part of your plans, be sure to shoot them away from the apartment - as in not within the community. Fireworks can mean millions of dollars in damages if a building catches on fire and residents can be hurt as well. We don't want that!
Check out some of the awesome firework displays planned in the area and refrain from "lighting up" yourself - especially while on property.
