The comrmunity sits just north of the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles and is separated from it by the Angeles National Forest and the San Gabriel Mountains. Adelanto means "progress" or "advance" in Spanish, which is appropriate given the recent and rapid gowth of the region's population. Adelanto is a quiet place that boasts an impressive amount of wide-open space. Still, the next several years should see it continue to grow as Los Angeles residents migrate out of the busy city and into the more relaxed region of the Inland Empire.
