Billings is a place for active people who enjoy being outdoors. Residents enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, skiing, mountain climbing, fishing, boating, golf, mountain biking, rappelling, just to name a few. " The different areas of Billings are divided up by geographical locations. Two-thirds of the city is in Yellowstone Valley and the South Hills area. The other third of the city is in the Heights-Lockwood area. The city itself is divided by the Rims, long cliffs that run north and east of downtown. The south side of Billings is one of the oldest residential areas, and the most diverse. Many new apartments in Billings are showing up in the West End, a high end neighborhood with a great shopping district.
