There are three colleges within Billings, Montana State University Billings, Rocky Mountain College and Yellowstone Baptist College.

Billings is a place for active people who enjoy being outdoors. Residents enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, rock climbing, skiing, mountain climbing, fishing, boating, golf, mountain biking, rappelling, just to name a few. In the summertime people enjoy art walks, concerts, food fairs and rodeos.

There is a festival for everyone in Billings. For food lovers, try the Wine and Food Festival at MSU Billings in May. If you are a history buff, see the Battle of the Little Big Horn Reenactment that takes place every June.

There are seven mountains within viewing range of Billings, and two national parks, (Yellowstone and Glacier), offering a myriad of great weekend getaways. Nothing says getting away like being out in nature, away from the sounds of the city.

" The different areas of Billings are divided up by geographical locations. Two-thirds of the city is in Yellowstone Valley and the South Hills area. The other third of the city is in the Heights-Lockwood area. The city itself is divided by the Rims, long cliffs that run north and east of downtown. The south side of Billings is one of the oldest residential areas, and the most diverse. Many new apartments in Billings are showing up in the West End, a high end neighborhood with a great shopping district. Another place to see rapid growth of Billings apartments is in Josephine Crossing, a very trendy area with a dense population."
