US-17 is another major highway that goes across Florida, beginning at the Georgia border.

WESH 2 news out of Daytona Beach is the local NBC station, WKMG 6 is the CBS station out of Orlando, and WEDQ is on channel 16, the PBS channel out of Tampa. The Chain of Lakes park is a well-visited attraction, and historical sites include Cypress Gardens, Panther Point Trail, Box Tower Gardens, and Benjamin Franklin Holland House are popular. You can take a walk at South Lake Howard Nature Park, or enjoy a show at Ritz Theatre 100.

What is there to do around Winter Haven?

LEGOLAND Florida is one of the main attractions in Winter Haven that bring tourists from all over to the area. It's a fun place for residents to enjoy, especially when the tourist season is slow. Cypress Gardens is another favorite, while Willowbrook Golf Course and Cypresswood Golf & County Club offer plenty of bike trails, hiking, and golf. The Chain of Lakes is a long series of at least 26 lakes that are combined using a canal system. Apartments in Winter Haven are close to amenities and make it possible to get out and enjoy time in nature.

Winter Haven offers a consistent weekly Farmers Market every Saturday morning. The market offers live music, is pet friendly, and includes at least 40 curated vendors. There is an annual Art Fest held every April, a community wide festival in March, and local music venues. The Bloomin' Arts festival is another popular event the first weekend of March in nearby Bartow.

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

There are many vacation opportunities within driving distance of Winter Haven, Florida. From nearby Orlando with Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World, to Tampa with beautiful beaches, a casino, and Major League Baseball, there is plenty of places to go for a vacation. A bit further Northeast is Daytona Beach, where you can spend the week driving on the beach, playing, and enjoying the Daytona 500. Kennedy Space Center is another favorite to visit. Miami Beach and the top of the Florida Keys are also popular vacation spots.

Where is the best place to move in Winter Haven?

Terranova is a gated community in Winter Haven that is only minutes from LEGOLAND, while Madison Lake Ned has luxury apartments in Winter Haven to rent. Apartments near Lake Deer are also an excellent place to live.  If you have a pet, you will want to look for an apartment that is close to a dog park, and allows pets on the premises. The Ruby Lake and Winterset neighborhoods offer good apartment options in the city.
