June 21, 2022Roaches, bedbugs, now mice. It’s great, if you’ve been in the field your gonna love it here. Sound of their little feet running at night is very therapeutic. Management has been pretty nice about it though, set an appointment prior for yesterday for pest control to check them out and still waiting. February 8, 2019Crystal Woods on the appearance seems okay, until you're here for a month. 1. Terrible floors, I could hear conversations of my neighbors throughout the night consistently. 2. Terrible water pressure, you can only be on scolding hot or freezing cold. If on warm, the sound of a jackhammer (literally) will sound through the walls and if not you, you can hear it happening to you neighbors. 3. From time to time, black gunk will comes out of the faucet that is oily and hard to wipe clean. We no ...longer drink or brush our teeth with the water. 4. There is terrible liter in the hallways, cigarette wrappers, tobacco materials and fast food containers. 5. Customer Service Nightmare!!!!!!!!
August 10, 2018Me and my spouse visited crystal woods today. Expecting to come in and speak to someone about an apartment to view and to begin the application process, but the customer service was horrible. Mind you, they are current under new management as of June 2018. We walked in and sat down while both of the leasing agents were on the phone. As soon as they got off they were giggling like children about another perspective resident and her sister that were on the phone. they continued to look at us but ...never once asked us anything or even mumbled the words "we will be right with you" instead they continued to talk to each other and laugh for 5 mins as we sat there waiting to be addressed. It got to a point where we got up to leave and never after that did they ask anything or approach us. If Crystal Woods doesn't respect their future or potential residence, what makes you think they will respect their current residence. It was such a disappointing experience and if this is how the new management allows their employees to treat guests than I will find another home that will value me as a person. Newlyweds First Home
June 10, 2018We loved our experience with Wardell here at Crystal Woods. This is our first apartment as newlyweds and he has made us feel like family. Top Notch Customer at it's best
March 5, 2018You tend to read the reviews of others before you write your own. I have been in customer service for many many many years. I tell you what I went this weekend and was a little unsure. The property was clean and many friendly tenants. I walked into the office and Mr. Gatlin excused himself from the customer he was taking care of and warmly greeted myself and my family. Shook my hand as well as my young God daughter's hands. Once Mr. Gatlin was able to meet with us, he treated us like VIP's. We ...approached the property he was so excited and warm to show us. The words that really make a customer feel great was Ms. G I know that you will "Love your new home". They took extra time to make some repairs on my place to "get it right." Great Community close to DC!!

AVOID. AWFUL.
February 8, 2018Lived here for 2 years because it was the best price in the area. You get what you pay for. The website and beautiful pictures are smoke and mirrors. We had a "renovated" apartment and the only thing nice were the new appliances. The new washer/dryer was so loud we had to have it replaced twice. Roaches would show up every other month even though our place was spotless. The complex would lose water randomly without warning at least once a month - without any cause. The office would blame it ...on a water main break or have zero knowledge of it at all. The parking rules were absolutely ridiculous. Whatever you do - do not have an out of state plate/inspection because they 100% do not consider it legit unless you have virginia plates. Our car got towed without ANY warning (even though part of the agreement is they have to warn you). It was absolutely ridiculous trying to reason with the office. They added random move out fees for a completely clean, spotless, better than we moved in condition apartment and claimed we admitted to damages that didn't exist - there was also "no appeal process" - convenient for them. The gym was always teeming with teenagers who were just messing around/sitting on machines. Several packages were never received or stolen from outside our door. When we talked to the office about it, they said that all packages were delivered to them and that we would get a notice on our door whenever a package would arrive - total lies. I came home to full on Police/SWAT team raids twice in my time at the complex. There were always police cars in various areas responding to calls - not doing patrols. The maintenance staff was actually nice but completely useless as far as fixing things. I would have to lend them tools or buckets or 'remind' them to not dump paint/solvents down the tub drain. During the winter, the lot is not plowed or salted unless enough tenants request it. I've never lived in such a terrible apartment complex that actually had beautiful apartments. The office staff, loud complex, bugs, and random water shut offs were not worth the $100/200 monthly savings as compared to other places. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Property Manager Responded

STAY AWAY!!!! WORST EVER!!!!
November 4, 2017STAY AWAY!!!!! This building is so cheaply made you can hear every time upstairs neighbor walks around. Do you think it's just apartment living? Think again. It sounds like thunder as he walks. Do you think I am exaggerating? Leave me your email address I will send you the recordings I have. You will be shocked. I wish I could upload it here. Incompetent management told me to call the cop when they walk around their apartment.........I was like.....um....are you freaking kidding me? How about ...changing wood floor to carpet for second floor and above? I can't sleep without ear plugs as my upstairs neighbor likes to walk around nonstop in the middle of the night even until 2 or 3 am. !! When kids run around the whole apartment building shakes and their parents don't even care. I have a not functioning dryer. It has been over a month and I put multiple service requests and still it's not fixed. Now I need to go to laundromat. On weekends be prepare to go out all day as ignorant tenants will play music so loud you won't be able to take a nap or just relax. You pay rent to have a place and you are forced to go out. I filed multiple complaints about that. Guess what? Management doesn't even respond so good luck. When someone smokes in front of the building it comes in the apartment as front door has huge gap between door and door frame. It's not cheapest place rent wise. If you are gonna deal with all these shenanigans why don't you just rent the cheaper place? Do you like picture leasing office put on its apt website? These are not even stainless steel appliances. These appliances are just painted silverish gray. Don't get fooled by its look. I am doing this to protect next victim. Stay away. I am breaking lease early. Even if I have to pay penalty I think it's worth it. Save yourself a headache.Property Manager Responded

Maintainance Personel
June 24, 2017I highly want to thank Mr.Ali for fixing my air condition system so quickly. My AC unit broke down just recently and I was concerned because I am asthmatic and without air condition in hot weather my breathing gets very difficult, as I had stressed to him that day. I wanted to give a great thank you to Mr. Ali for not just taking care of the issue as quickly and efficient as he did but for providing me a fan during the process. From what I was told, maintainance doesn't work usually on weekends ...and when my air condition unit broke that Friday afternoon he made sure to come back early in the morning first thing the very next day, that saturday, to continue to fix and follow up on my issue. Negligence
May 19, 2017I have lived at Crystal Woods for just over a month. The one star is for my apartment. I like the layout and design. However, since my apartment had not been cleaned when I moved in (debris, dead bugs, crumbs), and the recycling dumpster had not been emptied in weeks then disappeared, and the cut I got on my foot from the crumbling grout in my bathroom (the shoddy construction is shocking), and the story below, I cannot give any more stars. On May 11, 2017 I returned home from work around ...3:15pm. I opened my door to a smoke-filled apartment. Inside the thick smoke sat my dog. I sprinted through the apartment to see what was on fire, found nothing, and got my dog out of there. It turns out that there was maintenance in my building that used a smoke bomb to check for plumbing leaks. That smoke collected in my apartment. My dog was forced to breathe that smoke all day. I breathed it in too, and I am an asthmatic. This was over a week ago, and I am still coughing. No idea what chemicals I inhaled. We were not given advanced notice about this, and no one called me about the smoke. The leasing office apologized for this, but no one offered any compensation or restitution. What’s worse is that the leasing office didn’t seem to know anything about it. So between the negligence of the apartment complex and the plumbing contractor, I have to look for another place to live. I have not been provided a safe environment which is against the Virginia Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.Property Manager Responded

Stay far far away!
March 10, 2017If I could give this apartment complex a 0 out of 0 I would. Do not move here if you value your safety or expect your apartment to be cared for. There is no way I would live here if I have children or were a single female. I had to sleep with weapons next to my bed because I was so scared. If I had children I'd be afraid they'd be kidnapped. I've had strange men approach me since living there asking me to come have "conversations" with them on the sides of the buildings. Furthermore, my car got ...towed WITH the Crystal Woods decal in it. There is trash and cigarette butts everywhere. I had to put out small fires that I saw resulting from fresh cigarette butts on the ground. It took them over 3 weeks to fix my A/C. I had water leaking out of my electrical outlets when I turned the shower on. The management refused to ever respond to any concerns I had. The management lies through their teeth to get you there, and when you move in they say you don't have it in writing so you don't have proof. The list goes on and on.
