If you are looking for a peaceful neighborhood park near your apartment in Atlanta, Georgia visit Grant Park. The 131.5 acres of land which 100 is the public park was named after Col Lemuel P. Grant who in 1881 donated the land. The park is surrounded by Craftsmen houses, new condos, Schools, eaters, and historic sites. Located in the park is a garden called The Private Garden. The landscape is modeled after European design with a reflecting pool, sculpted trees, and white painted iron benches. Also, Fort Walker is located in the southeast corner of the park, but only earthen embankment still stands. Grant Park hosts events like the Corks and Forks part of the Annual Grant Park Summer Shade Festival, Grant Park Halloween Parade, and the Annual Grant Park Tour of Homes. This serene neighborhood park is a sweet escape to the outdoors and a easy drive from your apartment.
