So you've just moved into your new Charlotte apartment and you're ready for the perfect steak. But where to go? One of Charlotte's most popular steak joints, McIntosh's Steak & Seafood, advertises itself as a "chain of one", and boasts a hearty menu of comfort food in a modern, English pub-style atmosphere. Located on South Blvd in the Dilworth neighborhood, the restaurant boasts a full bar and seasonal outdoor seating. As you've probably guessed, fish and steak dominate the menu, so non meat-eating apartment-ites will unfortunately have nothing in the way of entrées. Speaking of steak, you have a big range of options here - you can choose from the Steak Au Poivre, the Rib Eye or the Petite Filet, all cut from Prime Beef. Or, if there are two of you willing to share, you can order the 3lb Prime Porterhouse For Two for $90 (or you could just take the rest of it back to your apartment). Most of the appetizers are fish-based, including Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes and Oyster Spring Rolls, but the dessert offerings are also pretty yummy. Try the Crème Brulee, Cheesecake or homemade Apple Pie, served a la mode. The portions here are pretty monstrous, but for $25-$30 per entrée, you do get what you pay for in terms of taste, also. With a great atmosphere and good eats, this is the type of restaurant in which the owner himself might drop by and check on how your table is doing.
