What was once a farming town in the 1800s has now turned into one of the most sought after vacation spots in the world. Delray Beach, Florida boasts over 200 sunny days each year, higher than the national average, and has excellent public transportation and easy access to plenty of restaurants, shops, and (of course) the beach! While settlers arrived in Delray Beach in the 1800s to farm, it wasn't officially incorporated as a city until 1911. It was at this time that the bridge was built over the Intracoastal Waterway. Schools were constructed in 1913 and electricity was wired into the city a year later. The roaring twenties brought about a boom in real estate, which included theaters and hotels for vacationers to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Throughout the 1900s, Delray Beach grew in popularity exponentially, making it one of the hottest places in the country for vacationers and locals alike.

The main highway is I95, which will take you straight to Canada! Overall, getting around town in Delray Beach is extremely easy.

Other great beaches in the area include Delray Public Beach as well as the Atlantic Dunes Park, which features a boardwalk. There are also plenty of local restaurants and shops to enjoy in the area as well. Delray Beach apartments all provide easy access to many of these attractions. 

Any annual festivals or Delray Beach events to know?

The Delray Beach Festival of the Arts is a major attraction in the area where customers can choose from handmade paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and more. Another big event is the Delray Beach Wine and Seafood Festival, where you can score some great drinks and food. Finally, the Delray Bash often draws hundreds due to the great food, drinks, and gifts available for purchase. 

Where are the nearby vacation spots?

There are so many great things to do within driving distance of Delray Beach. Disney World is just a 2.5-hour drive away and Miami is simply an hour drive down the coast. While you're in Miami, check out the exotic animals at Jungle Island or swim in the historical Venetian pool. A longer, but still manageable drive, is the Key West which is a major international vacation spot. They boast the world's best Key Lime Pie, crystal clear water, and awesome snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities. 

Where is the best place to move in Delray Beach?

Whether you already live here or are just waiting to make the move, there are tons of great apartments and areas to choose from. Downtown Delray Beach is a highly sought after area due to its fun environment and ease of transportation. The artsy area of Pineapple Grove is another excellent choice to settle down in. Many families are also starting to gravitate towards Central Delray Beach due to its family-friendly environment and ample amount of attractions.
