The major highways in the area include Interstate 85, which travels to Charlotte and Durham, and Interstate 40, which travels to Raleigh and Greensboro. These highways can get busy during rush hour, as there are lots of people who commute through Burlington for work. On the other hand, traffic is relatively mild the rest of the time.

Because of the proximity to Durham, Chapel Hill, and Greensboro, most of the major media outlets come from these cities. Some of the biggest radio stations in Burlington include WKNC, WXDU, and WRKV. Some of the biggest TV stations include WRAZ, WNCN, WRDC, and WTVD. Some of the biggest newspapers in the area include the News & Observer, the Carolina Times, the Triangle Tribune, and the Butner Creedmoor news.

There are a number of significant landmarks in the local area. One of the most popular options is Grand Daddy's Antique Mall. This is a great opportunity for people to learn about the history of the area while also exploring amazing furniture that still works well until this day. Another popular location is the Alamance Battleground State Historic Site. This was the site of an early skirmish during the Revolutionary War. Many people also love to visit The Animal Park at the Conservators Center. There is a long legacy of conservation in the local area, and this is an opportunity for people to learn more about some of the animals that must be protected.

What is there to do around Burlington?

There are lots of fun things to do in Burlington as well. For example, those who enjoy the outdoors will want to visit Cedarock Park. There are plenty of vacation opportunities that are relatively close to Burlington, North Carolina. For example, if you like sports, you may want to make the two-hour drive to Charlotte. They are, you can catch the Charlotte Knights, the Carolina Panthers, or the Charlotte Hornets. If you are willing to drive a bit further, you can reach the beach. You are not that far from Wilmington, North Carolina, which sits at the eastern edge of Interstate 40. If you are willing to get on a plane to go on vacation, then you can make the short drive to Raleigh-Durham International Airport. They are, you can reach just about every major city in the country relatively quickly.
